Welcome to Cardenas Early Childhood Center!

My name is Dr. Tina M. Garcia, and I am honored to be the principal of Cardenas ECC. I have proudly served Edgewood Independent School District for 26 years. I began my educational career as classroom teacher and have been an Instructional Facilitator, Instructional Officer, Assistant Principal and Elementary Principal. My career has spanned both elementary and secondary education, and I bring a wealth of experience to my current role.

Originally from Dallas and raised in San Antonio, I come from a proud military family; my father, brothers and I all served. My mother has been my greatest hero and mentor. I am deeply committed to the role of parents in their children's education. By leveraging research and best practices, I strive to strengthen the connection between schools and Edgewood communities. At Cardenas ECC, I am enthusiastic about fostering parental involvement, recognizing the vital role that families play in enhancing their children's learning experience.
